After seven weeks from the outback to the north Queensland tropical coast and then finishing up with two days on a luxury six star leading world hotel resort island, I have returned, refreshed and brimming with new ideas.
From the outback
To spectacular Kakadu
To tropical luxury
(If you would like to see the amazing photographs of where we've been... I kept a travel blog...http://wherethefekarwee.blogspot.com.au/ which goes from the latest entry backward.)
So now back to work... what am I up to?
Italian Affair has been available for a couple of months now and it has led to renewed interest in Holiday Affair which is fun.
Dangerous Desire has just gone live on Amazon, Barnes and Noble , and iTunes for pre-order. I would like to publicly thank my editor (who I have also acknowledged in the book )...
Erin McCormack Molta...you rock!
This book has turned out so well...when I read the galley I was so excited. It is also the longest of my books at just under seventy thousand words and is a romantic suspense set in the tropics of North Queensland.. It will be available on 9 September, but is up for pre-order on all sites.
While we were away, I spent time in the Whitsundays taking photos of the places where Jake and Gracie have their adventures!
This is where it all begins...but in the dead of night.
While I was away I also received the nod for the book I have been dying to write. It is a historical novel which begins in the late eighteenth century and is the first of five suspense books in a continuity series. Watch out for the Emerald Quest series next year.
The day the contract was signed there was a champagne night around the camp site!
As we travelled it really showed me the way an author's brain can switch off. Due to a looming deadline I had to finish Hot Rock, my time slip novel, in the first two weeks on the road. So I immersed myself n the green fields of Glastonbury in the UK whilst looking out the window at the stark Australian outback desert.
One day we were out deep sea fishing sixty miles off Darwin and I sat with a pencil and paper and wrote a chapter!
What other career is so portable?
The other fun thing about being on vacation is that read some great books and will put some reviews up soon.
But now it's back to work. Three days to do edits for two books and then I am off to the shaky world of Wellington, New Zealand for the RWNZ conference.
I'm looking forward to meeting my NZ Entangled colleagues, and some Aussies as well.
So for a giveaway for this blog post and your choice of a copy of one of my books of your choice...what is the strangest location where you have written or read a book?
Looking forward to seeing the responses!Happy reading!
